RED LION HOUSE situated in the pretty village of Hartington known as the gateway to the famous dales of the Dove and Wolfscote .
Peacefully positioned but still close enough to shops ,cafes restaurants and pubs .Originally the Red Lion was one of the village pubs and still retains some of its original features. Oak stairs and oak floors in the lounge area. A stone flagged floor in the dinning room and antique range which has a caste Red Lion set on the mantel. Fully equipped modern kitchen . There is one bathroom with spa bath and a separate shower room to the master bed room.
Layout
A small flagged area at the entrance to the cottage leads into the dinning area as mentioned this has an old cast fire place( it is not in use) but provides a lovely focal point.This lovely oak beamed room leads to the kitchen with all modern conveniences, dish washer ,washer ,freezer microwave. To the rear is a secluded patio area with lawn and garden beyond. All private. The separate lounge on the ground floor boasts oak beams and oak flooring the dinning area has a beautiful flag stoned floor with occasional rugs dinning table to seat six with added casual sitting of a leather sofa and a chair. The lounge has an stone fireplace not in use ,and a soft furnished sofa and two large armchairs to stretch out on.
Three bedrooms.One king sized en-suite with shower room boasting oak cabin bed with deluxe mattress oak dressing table/ wardrobe. All very comfortable with lovely soft furnishings looking out onto the village paddock often home to two ponies.You can see the village church and hear the bells being rung on special occasions. The room across the landing a twin bedded room and a sunny double bedroom overlooking the garden. Additional bathroom with spa bath and shower. Colour TV dvd. PRIVATE garden /bbq /patio furniture/ lawn.Off road parking. All linen supplied but not towels.
Furnishings and fabrics have been carefully co-ordinated throughout this delightful property . The bedrooms and lounge look out towards the open field and village church.
Walking is from the doorstep into the beautiful Peak district or into the village with its duck pond several pubs ,country hotel and cheese shop is recommended.
The Red Lion House centrally positioned ideal to explore the many attractions the Peak District has to offer. Chatsworth House/ Haddon Hall/Alton Towers are a short drive as are the lovely market towns of Buxton Ashbourne and Bakewell.
The sun catches the rear of the cottage later in the day making the patio garden a lovely area to sit and relax.
